H.L. I am always open for catchy, dynamic female fronted symphonic metal, so it was a no brainer to check "Femmes Fatales". The album offers a well balanced mixture of own tracks and interesting cover versions like "It's a Sin" or "Kayleigh". My favourite is "Separate Ways", another cover version, but in that case I didn't know the original. The album rocks and is ultra-catchy with a solid portion of pathos and obligatory guest vocals by Marco Hietala. Favorite track: Separate Ways.

Melissa Bonny is the best symphonic female vocalist not named Floor Jansen. Sadly, Ad Infinitum chooses to throw in incomprehensible death metal growling - which I flatly can't stand. The band seems to have lost a bit of identity and direction. moving_pictures
